Therapy Services

Overview

At Patchwork Therapy, we provide Creative Arts Psychotherapy, specifically Dramatherapy, for all individuals.

We recognise that everyone’s needs and experiences are different, and that your therapy process should reflect this.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a confidential, client-centred space to explore thoughts, feelings, experiences and patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Therapy can support individuals through a wide range of difficulties and life experiences, including emotional wellbeing, anxiety, low mood, relationships, self-esteem, life changes and other challenges or experiences that may feel difficult to manage alone.

Therapy is always a collaborative process, with individuals at the centre of the work. We will work together at your own pace, creating space to explore what feels important to you and allowing the therapeutic process to develop in a way that feels comfortable and appropriate for your individual needs.

Where:

Individual therapy can be offered in person or online, with flexibility around the way sessions are provided where this is appropriate.

Cost:

Session Rates can be discussed during an initial consultation, which is free of charge.

Group Therapy

Group therapy provides an opportunity to explore experiences alongside others who may be facing similar challenges.

Being part of a therapeutic group can support reducing feelings of isolation and create opportunities to develop understanding, connection and new ways of relating to ourselves and others.

Groups can be developed around particular needs or themes, with the content, structure and frequency shaped according to the needs of the group.

All group work takes place within an agreed confidential framework and working alliance.

Where:

Group therapy can be offered in a range of settings, including schools, care homes, private therapeutic spaces and other community or organisational settings.

Cost:

Session Rates can be discussed during an initial consultation, which is free of charge.

Therapy in Education

Therapeutic support within education can provide a valuable opportunity to support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people within the environment where they spend much of their time.

This may include individual therapeutic support, group work, consultation or wider support for the school or educational setting, depending on the needs identified.

Working within education also allows for a wider, systemic approach. Where appropriate, this can include psychoeducation and support for families, parents or carers, as well as guidance and psychoeducation for staff.

The aim is not only to support the individual child or young person, but can also to support the adults and systems around them to develop a greater understanding of their emotional and psychological needs.

This can help create greater consistency between therapeutic work, home and school, while supporting the wider environment around the young person.

Confidentiality remains an important part of therapeutic work, with clear boundaries agreed at the outset. As with all therapeutic work, confidentiality is maintained within the appropriate professional and safeguarding framework.

Cost:

Session Rates can be discussed during an initial consultation, which is free of charge.

The process

All therapeutic work begins with an initial assessment, which provides an opportunity to understand your circumstances, what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with.

Before this, we can offer a free initial consultation. This is an opportunity to talk briefly about what you are looking for, ask any questions and consider whether therapy feels like the right next step for you.

Following the assessment, we can discuss recommendations for support and agree on what feels most appropriate for you.

Fees and payment arrangements are discussed during the initial consultation.

If you are unsure which type of support would be most suitable for you, the free consultation is a good place to start. It provides an opportunity to talk through any questions and explore what support may be appropriate, with no pressure or obligation to make a decision.
